From January to July 2022, non-financial direct investment from Chinese enterprises to Belt and Road partner countries reached 77.41 billion yuan, up 5.9% (equivalent to 11.87 billion U.S. dollars, up 5.1%), accounting for 18.2% of China’s outbound investment in the same period, up 0.2 percentage points. Main investment destinations are Singapore, Indonesia, Pakistan, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Bangladesh.
In terms of project engineering, Chinese enterprises concluded 3,048 new project contracts with Belt and Road partner countries, worth RMB373.48 billion, down by 10.4% (equivalent to USD57.27 billion, down 11.1%), accounting for 50.4% of foreign projects contracted by Chinese enterprises during the same period. These projects posted a revenue of RMB287.85 billion, down 1.7% (equivalent to USD44.14 billion, down 2.5%), accounting for 54.3% of the total revenue during the same period.
